WHAT IS PVC TAPE?

Electrical PVC insulating tape is a type of pressure-sensitive tape used to insulate electrical wires and other materials that conduct electricity. It can be made of many plastics, but vinyl is most popular, as it stretches well and gives an effective and long lasting insulation.  The flexibility of this tape delivers excellent durability and tear resistance.

Polyvinyl Chloride also referred to as 'vinyl' is commonly abbreviated to PVC.  It is the third-most widely produced synthetic plastic polymer globally.  The flexible PVC is backed with a pressure sensitive rubber adhesive coat. It has excellent insulative properties, and is ideal for protecting wire splices/ cables and providing extra insulation on electrical cords.
